Coventry Judo Club, Red and Yellow Belt – Coventry

I think we had a photography fail at this event!  On the day we only had two players in this competition but it was a really well run event as Bethany had four contests with only two others in her groups the first round being a ‘practice go’ – of course she won both of these and lost one contest in the real McCoy.  Never mind, some good experience against some tough little fighters.

Sam had a great day getting lots of experience. Results on the mat meant they had to get the calculator out for the scores on the sheets and despite winning two contests, drawing one and losing one he took a Bronze (15 points).  The chap who took Silver won two, lost two but he won his two by Ippon meaning the scores added up to 20. Good fighting against the better players for sure.

The photos don’t do these two justice – they did incredibly well and the coaches are well pleased with the steps forward the players made.  Shout out to Louis who was entered but was ill on the day – your entry has been reserved until next time.

Beth – Silver, winning 3/4 fights.  Sam – Bronze, winning 2, drew 1 and lost 1.

No Gregs in the vicinity so the coaches made it to the pub for a short interlude instead!
